What beats the end-of-summer blues? A chance to challenge your best friend, your mom or your dad, boss, whoever to one of the most epic 5k races in Lexington KY! This 5k is unlike any other that you have ever heard of or have been to! The team at XtremeAIR 5k has made it possible for you to have fun, let loose, and release your inner child! No muddy sneakers or competitive attitude required! Forget the days where you needed to toss your shoes after a muddy run, because this 5k is all about having the best time of your life while staying in shape and mud-free! Both challenge and excitement can be had as a group or as a single participant. But it is recommended that you come as a group because, what’s more fun than seeing your best friend topple over a big inflatable obstacle?! Bosses compete with the coworkers, boys against girls, or moms and dads against the kids! Either way, you’ll be bouncing your way through a whole new kind of 5k race!
What’s the Scoop?
On the morning of September 17th 2016, you will begin your day of fun at Fall Springs Park (directions can be found here). 12 giant inflatable obstacles will be laid out and ready for the first wave of runners! But don’t let the florescent colors and bouncy appeal deceive you; these inflatable bounce houses pack quite the punch! The first obstacle, Game On, preps you with a warm-up! But then you’ll hit The Cliffhanger, the second challenge and you’ll be required to climb a steep 3 stories up and down an inflatable tower. Then it’s on to the third challenge, I’m Tired, which may seem like a breeze but you will be tell yourself why you doubted it. Flash forward to The Beast, an obstacle that will blow your mind with a combination of all the previous challenges. Last and certainly not least, Game Over, is an obstacle waiting at the end. All of this and more awaits you and your friends and family on this September morning!
If you are looking for things to do in Lexington that the whole family can participate in, you’ve found it. Runners of all ages that meet the 48” height minimum are welcomed to participate in this exciting event! Just be sure to sign up online because tickets sell out fast! Military, first responders, and teams are welcome for a discount package! Package pickup is encouraged the day before the event to same time on race day (pickup time and location can be found here). Procrastinators, fear not, you may register and pick up your packet on race day, just make sure you arrive about an hour before your desired wave time to ensure you have time to park, register or check in, grab your packet and scope out the course! Don’t forget your ID and a smile!
